Tag Sale to Benefit The Gray House 8/27

SPRINGFIELD, MA –The Gray House, a nonprofit organization in the North End of Springfield, is hosting a tag sale to raise money for its programs which help low-income individuals and families throughout the Greater Springfield community.

The tag sale will take place at The Gray House, 22 Sheldon Street, Springfield on Tuesday, August 27 from 10am-2pm. Ample parking is available in The Gray House newly added parking lot.

In the Fall of 2018, two of the organization’s founders, Sr. Jane Morrissey, ssj and Sr. Cathy Homrok, ssj, moved out from the second and third floors of The Gray House where they had lived since shortly before the organization opened its doors for services in October of 1984. After giving away much of the furniture and household items to families in need, the organization is hoping to raise funds that will be used to support its programs.

Sr. Jane Morrissey currently serves on the board of directors of The Gray House and remains in the North End of Springfield. Sr. Cathy Homrok now resides at the Bethany Health Care Center in Framingham, MA.

Teresa Liberti, executive director at The Gray House said, “I frequently hear from people who are somehow connected to The Gray House, whether they personally came here for services and are now doing well or have a family member who helped with the renovations of the house after it was purchased by the Sisters. This is a great way for all of those people to take home a little piece of The Gray House and the Sisters who have had such a significant impact on the lives of so many.” Items from the Sisters that will be available for purchase include furniture, books, artwork, household items, clothing and religious items.
