A Message from the New Executive Director

Teresa_Spaziani_Executive Director

Dear Friends of The Gray House,

I am excited to announce that I have joined The Gray House as the new Executive Director. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself.

I was first introduced to The Gray House nearly eight years ago as a student at Western New England University. Immediately, I could see the love and respect that everyone at The Gray House had for each other and for those served. It was the epitome of the word community and I wanted to be a part of it. I began volunteering at The Kids’ Club after school program and the following year was asked to work as a staff member in the program. After graduating, I continued to stay involved and most recently joined the Board of Directors in January 2015.

I bring experience in fundraising, community relations, marketing, licensing and quality assurance to The Gray House. I also bring a deep understanding of the mission and vision of The Gray House along with the purpose our founding Sisters intended for the home — to be a place where peace is lived and learned and hope is shared. As I look to the future of The Gray House and how we can grow to meet the needs of our neighbors, I do so through this lens.

While I was not raised in Springfield, Springfield is my home and I am passionate about making a difference in my community. I am confident that there is no better way to achieve this than through The Gray House alongside our dedicated staff and volunteers.

I would also like to thank my predecessor, Dena Calvanese. I am so thankful that I had the opportunity to get to know Dena and work with her over the past nearly eight years. I am grateful for her continued dedication to this organization and those we serve as well as for her role as a mentor to me.

I hope to have the opportunity to get to know you — our donors, volunteers, partners and neighbors — and invite you to attend an Open House at The Gray House. Please stop by on Wednesday, August 24 from 8-9am or 12-2pm to meet our staff and learn more about our services or volunteer opportunities.

I appreciate your continued support of The Gray House and look forward to sharing our stories and news with you.

Gratefully,

Teresa Spaziani
